How much does a general session cost?
I charge a $50 sitting fee, which covers my time and talent editing and taking the pictures, as well as holding your time/date of your appointment. This includes a session up to one hour in length. I charge an additional amount for professional prints, wall art, or digital files on disc with printing rights based on your needs. My print prices are on my website www.moriaphotography.com under the investment tab. If you would like prices for digital files only, please message me via my facebook page or email associated with my website under contact information, and I will send you a full list. Prices are subject to change without notice. Putting in a sitting fee will lock prices.
How much are weddings?
I have three wedding packages and extra add-ons under the investment tab on my website. I have packages to fit your needs, including on half-day photography package and another with an included engagement session! Check them out!
Where are you located?
I am based in Hindman, Kentucky, with my studio in downtown. However, I do travel! Please inquire about on-location sessions.
What is your turn around time?
I usually post (with permission) a sneak peek within 1-3 days after a session, sometimes the day of a session to social media. A full gallery of successful edited images are posted in a private, password-protected gallery with instructions on how to choose your poses for prints or which poses you'd like to have included on your disc. For general sessions, it takes 2-3 weeks on average for full galleries to be posted. For weddings, it will be discussed in your contract. Once your images are chosen, your disc will be ready for pickup, and prints are available within 2-4 days.
What if I need to reschedule/cancel?
After putting in a sitting fee and booking your date, you will be allowed one reschedule if 48 hours or more of notice are given. If a cancellation occurs less than 48 hours of the session, the sitting fee is forfeited. If a sudden, unavoidable emergency occurs, you can be given one reschedule at any point up until the session.
Where do you take pictures?
My studio is located in downtown Hindman, Kentucky, which is where I do take most indoor photos. Outdoor sessions usually take place in various locations throughout the Knott County area, but I am open to travel!
Do I get to see all my images?
The photographer reserves the right to choose the most successful poses from the session, which will be included in the gallery. Images the are not up to par with the photographer's expectations, or if I feel as though it does not represent my work in a positive way, are deleted. Trust that only the best images will make the cut!
Can I get my unedited images?
I want your images to be perfect for you, and to also reflect my style and art, which is why I do not offer unedited or digital negatives.
Can I edit my pictures?
Once images are placed on a disc, they cannot be altered in any way. This is why it is important that you look over your images in your gallery and note any problems you have with any of them. If there is a certain way you want them to look, that matches my style, I will be happy to help in any way I can. However, once on the disc, images should not be changed with including, but not limited to filters, color, black and white or sepia modifications, cropping, text, etc.
Do I get copyrights with my disc/What are printing rights?
You will receive printing rights. You will be able to print the high resolution images in any size or quantity, but you cannot sell the images, claim as your own work, or edit in any way. If you'd like more information, I can send you a full list of an example printing rights page through email.
Where can I pick up my products?
For safety reasons, I only meet at my studio for product pickups. If you would like your products mailed to you, I can also do this with an additional cost.
How long will my gallery be online?
Galleries will only be available for proofing for 2 weeks after you are sent a link. There will be a $20 fee to reopen galleries after this time, for an additional two weeks.
How long do you keep my images?
I will keep them for up to a month after the gallery closes, at which point I can no longer guarantee they will be saved. I am not responsible to hold onto images.
Will you use my images as advertisement?
Yes, it is possible I may want to use an image from your session for business cards, online advertisement, etc.
Do you edit away blemishes?
I used professional editing programs to remove blemishes and other unwanted aspects of your photos. Unless otherwise directed, I will remove blemishes, redness, bruises, etc. I do not typically edit away birthmarks or other characteristics that will be present on a person for more than two weeks, as it is part of who they are and I do not want to take that away. However, if asked to do so, I can.
Do you do assistant training or internships?
At this time, I am not doing internships or hiring assistants.
How can I ensure my images will last forever?
Print them! Prints are physical copies of your images and are the easiest way to pass them down. However, if you do go the digital route, I suggest investing in an external hard drive to store them in, as well as another location, such as a safety deposit box. CDs and DVDs will become obsolete, so it is best to have backup plans!
